The NSERC CREATE AMETHYST Program at the University of Lethbridge is designed to expose students to the broader context of imaging science and technology, with foci on imaging spectroscopy and remote sensing. Imaging is an emergent science and technology sector that involves a wide variety of disciplines and has become one of the most highly used tools in science, technology and the arts. Imaging has grown to become the leading enabling technology for Earth observation, environmental science, medical imaging, and climate research.
Under the direction of the Alberta Terrestrial Imaging Centre (ATIC), the AMETHYST Program’s main objective is to fund exceptional trainees at all levels: Undergraduate, Graduate and Postdoctoral Fellowships. Trainees accepted into the program are selected on the basis of talent, suitability for working on interdisciplinary research, educational track record and letters of recommendations from previous teachers.
