Alberta Economic Development, Trade and Tourism: Cyberinfrastructure Initiative Grant (CYB)

The Cyberinfrastructure Initiative (CYB) stream enhances the capacity of Canadian institutions and researchers to conduct leading-edge research in areas of demonstrated strength by supporting the infrastructure needs of computationally-and data-intensive research. The CYB coordinates with the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)’s Cyberinfrastructure Initiative.

The RCP will support the infrastructure needs of computationally and data-intensive research in alignment with institutional priorities and the government priorities, such as the Alberta Research Innovation Framework (ARIF). To do this, it will invest in a limited number of research data infrastructure projects in collaboration with Compute Canada.

The RCP uses a cost-shared funding approach to provide up to 40% of the total eligible project costs for successful applications, enabling projects to leverage support from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and other sources.
