The Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship Program (AYEP) supports Indigenous students as they learn how to create successful futures.

In 2007, the Martin Family Initiative (MFI) launched AYEP to introduce Indigenous high school students to business opportunities within the Canadian economy. The curriculum teaches students how to nurture their entrepreneurial spirit, improve financial literacy and communication skills, and gives them an opportunity to explore a variety of post-secondary options. But at the heart of the program is a simple hope: that students leave with improved self-confidence and belief in their own potential.

AYEP helps Indigenous students to succeed in high school, the work place, in post-secondary studies, and in daily life. The curriculum – which is offered in the last two years of high school – introduces students to the world of business and prepares them for the working world, regardless of their career path.

Based on provincial business course requirements, AYEP comprises of two credit courses in Grade 11 and 12 (Entrepreneurship 1 and Entrepreneurship 2). The courses highlight Indigenous content, including case studies and examples of successful Canadian Indigenous businesspeople.

The Clean Technology program invests in projects to adapt, develop and deploy innovative clean technologies to benefit Albertans and contribute to the growth of the province’s low-carbon economy. In each of our priority focus areas, we look for projects and activities that can reduce environmental impacts, support Alberta’s energy transition, generate jobs in a clean tech economy, and engage industry, researchers and communities to participate in their future energy systems.

We are excited about the emerging technology pathways that can support cross-sectoral industries to reduce or mitigate carbon emissions, decarbonize fuel systems or create novel materials required in new clean technologies. Our carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) focus can help Alberta to demonstrate its leadership in supporting many industries to decarbonize, including supporting the growing hydrogen economy in Alberta. From lithium to vanadium, novel metals, minerals and materials extraction and utilization leverages Alberta’s existing natural resource skills and infrastructure to build new clean tech supply chains in Alberta.

Alberta Innovates: Industry r&D Associates Program

Alberta’s high potential, high growth, technology and knowledge-based small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may be eligible for up to $74,500 per year for up to two years to enable them to employ in-house professional research and development capability, to advance the Technology Readiness Level and accelerate new product commercialization.

The r&D Associate has the advanced technical skills required by the SME to make that last leap from research to a marketable product.

This 2 year program is designed to fund SMEs to employ an r&D professional through one of the following options:

The DIP is designed to grant dairy processors with continued access to the milk they require to produce innovative dairy products without affecting their existing provincial milk plant supply allocation. By encouraging such new development, the overall demand for milk is expected to increase. The CDC will provide an allocation credit (deducted from the Canadian requirement) to each province that supplies milk for the new DIP contracts. These credits will be allocated to the province on end-use butterfat basis with no conversion of credits into quota (crystallization).

You may be able to get a milk quota to develop and produce new and innovative dairy products. You could get a milk quota to develop and produce innovative dairy products. You need to create a product that: Is wholly or essentially made with milk; Contains no imported dairy ingredients; Is new to the Canadian market. Other conditions apply.

The deadlines to receive DIP applications at the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) are:
